Spend a Swedish summer in idyllic Fågelfors, in a very well-equipped holiday house with a beautiful veranda and conservatory

This lovely holiday house with a typical wooden façade painted in Swedish red is idyllically situated on the outskirts of Fågelfors, just 13km from Högsby.

The house provides 92m² of living space. The three bedrooms can accommodate six adults and a small child. Two of the bedrooms have double beds (with wooden floorboards, and one of the bedrooms has built-in cupboards), a bedroom with laminate flooring and a single bed (which can be pulled out to provide two single beds, and a cot can be added). The fireplace in the living room provides the right ambience for quiet and relaxing evenings (firewood is provided). International satellite TV, a small selection of books, games and DVDs await you. The living room and the light, very well-equipped kitchen-diner (with a dishwasher) feature oak parquet flooring. The kitchen has an electric stove with an oven, a fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. There is a table with six chairs. The bathroom has under-floor heating, a toilet and a shower. There is an additional guest TV. The laundry room has a changing table and a washing machine. A cot and two highchairs are available for babies and toddlers.

The terrace provides garden furniture for lovely sunny days. There are also loungers available for use in the garden. If it is not quite so sunny then you can enjoy the conservatory/glazed veranda, which faces south, as does the garden, inviting you to sunbathe, read, grill and relax.

There are two parking spaces on site. The house has few neighbours. It is surrounded by wonderful nature. A forest starts right behind the house. With a bit of luck you might spot deer or squirrels in the garden. You can access the forest right from the garden and in a couple of minutes you reach a little stream. In the late summer and autumn the forests offer a wealth of berries and mushrooms to gather.

You can walk to a grocery market in just a few minutes, with all everyday essentials, and also open on Sundays. The nearest other shopping facilities are in Högsby (about 1850 inhabitants) 13km away, where you can also find the nearest doctor or pharmacist, bank, supermarkets, tourist office, library etc. It is less than a 15-minute walk from the house to a good and well-priced restaurant (Vandrarhem). The nearest petrol station is in Fågelfors.

Fågelfors has three lovely lakes: the Klobosjön fishing lake 800 metres away, which is right behind the local church, then there ist he Övresjö swimming lake with a diving tower, a non-swimmer area, a sandy beach, a grill area and a toilet, less than five minutes away by car. The third lake is good for canoeing. The nearby River Emån, 220km long and the longest river in southern Sweden, is also suitable for canoeing, with canoe hire available. It is also one of the best fishing waterways in Europe. Fishermen from all around the world come here to fish for salmon, sea trout, pike and bass. The tourist fishing permit entitles you to fish in 29 different waters in the Högsby area.

    “The house was super clean and cozy. The location is very nice and quiet and very close is also a supermarket which is open every day, even on Sundays. The equipment was also good, it is everything you need from the cutlery to the washing machine. The beds are mega-comfortable and showers were very comfortable in the one bathroom.
