Rustic chalet in quiet, alpine surroundings, with a sauna and a lovely panoramic view of the mountainous surroundings, an ideal starting point for extensive hikes

The chalet is quietly situated in a green oasis about a ten-minute walk from the centre.

The picturesque, detached chalet with a rustic interior measures around 130m² and can accommodate nine people. The ground floor has a living room with a fireplace stove and comfortable seating, as well as two dining corners and a highchair. The modern entertainment electronics is integrated inconspicuously, such as an LCD TV (Smart TV), a DVD player with Doly Surround Sound, and a games console (x-box 360 kinect), a stereo system and CD player. The separate kitchen is fully-equipped with a dishwasher, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, stove etc. The first bedroom has a double bed and a children’s bed, as well as a shower and washbasin. The bathroom has two washbasins, a shower, a bath and WC. On the ground floor there is also a sauna with a shower and a separate WC. The upper floor has three bedrooms, two each with a double bed and one with three single beds. The two double bedrooms each have a TV, a DVD player and games console (PS 2). One cot and a highchair are available. An additional cot and highchair can be provided on request at a supplementary charge.

Enjoy a fantastic view of the surrounding mountain world from the terrace. There is parking space for a maximum of five cars.

Gernkogel (2267m), the local mountain, is the Austrian mountain that is third richest in flowers. The climb of around two hours leads across lush mountain meadows, with particularly beautiful flora and fauna. On the peak a unique alpine panorama awaits you, with a view of the Hohe Tauern mountain world. In winter it is ideal for ski touring, with tours on Gernkogel starting right from the house. The idyllic, typical mountain village of Wald is in a sunny and sheltered location between the glacier-covered Hohe Tauern mountains in the south and the Kitzbühel and Pinzgau Alps in the north. From Wald you can access one of the most beautiful and pristine areas of Hohe Tauern National Park. Apart from simple hikes on an extensive network of trails, mainly in the region between 900 and 18000 metres, there are also medium and difficult mountain tours in the Venediger area. You can take the cable car to the Königsleiten peak at 2200 metres, as well as the peak of Wildkogel. Of course Wald also has a range of entertainment. From June to September there is a concert on the square on Fridays and there is a farmers’ market. You can go on trips in the area to e.g. Krimml with its famous waterfalls, the Durlassboden reservoir lake, Zillertal, Kaprun, Grossglockner etc.

    “The house is in a beautiful location, quiet on a dead end street. equal walk from the cottage. The decor is basic but complete. The house was clean. The terrace on the other hand showed a very different picture. No view as promised, only if you are in the upstairs bedroom use of the balcony.
