Explore the 15th century Gothic inspired Wallfahrtskirche St Vinzenz in the town of Heiligenblut. It is one of the oldest churches of Carinthia and features impressive frescoes and a winged altar.
Recommended periods to rent a holiday house
The park is an all year round vacation destination with some exceptions. From July to September is a good period to visit when everything is lush and green. You can easily enjoy hiking and trekking tours that you can arrange from your holiday rental. If you are staying at an appartement in the village between December and May park rangers can also arrange for snow-shoe hikes. The Grossglockner high alpine road is closed from October onwards when the winter season begins but holiday rentals are available for winter vacations.
