The small, traditional village Loutra is located slightly inland from the coast, approx. 10km away from Rethimno, at the foot of the Psiloritis mountains. The charming property is located behind thick walls and an old gate in the middle of the village. On a former farm estate the owner family have made their dream come true. Behind an old Venetian gate hides an inner courtyard, designed in regional Cretan style with 2 beautifully renovated Cretan farm houses. A pool and a nicely landscaped Mediterranean garden with plenty of plants and flowers complete the picture. Secluded tranquillity and a cultivated atmosphere perfect to relax is what you can expect here.

The house (ARETHOUSA) directly at the passage leading to the courtyard is used by the English-speaking owner family lived in with 2 loving dogs.

The holiday house ROTOKRITOS is set directly at the pool, a little offset to the house of the owners. The beautiful stone house dating back to 1700 was completely restored and modernised in 2008 and turned into a full-featured, comfortable holiday house. This two-storey holiday domicile is comfortably furnished with selected pieces to create a restraint and modern atmosphere and provide everything you need for a carefree holiday. The sheltered entrance terrace with an arcade arch is a shady spot for hot summer days. The entrance to the courtyard is on ground level.
The living room with adjoining open kitchen and the bedroom are on the ground floor. On the first floor are 2 more bedrooms. From the small hall between the two bedrooms you have access to a roofed balcony with a view of the estate, the beautiful garden and pool and the surrounding landscape up to the sea. The 25sqm pool (7 x 3m, 0,70 -1,20m deep, not heated, in operation from 1.05.-31.10.) is for the private use of the guests in the holiday house ROTOKRITOS and perfect for a refreshing splash.
The BBQ and the stove at the edge of the property are occasionally used by the owner family as well.

This holiday domicile is ideal for you if you want to spend a holiday in a quiet, well-maintained, comfortable atmosphere far away from the touristic hotspots.

Rethimno with its extensive promenade is ideal for sauntering and not far away. The small picturesque Venetian harbour with the small boats and lined up taverns is rather touristic but very charming an atmospheric. The pedestrian zone in the ancient city centre has beautiful narrow alleys with old traditional houses and is perfect for shopping and going out in style. The 10 km long sandy beaches at the coast of Rethimno, that stretch in north eastern direction offer a wide selection of beach bars and also some natural beach sections.
